What is Vitamin B2 Riboflavin?
Riboflavin, regulates red blood cell growth and helps maintain a strong immune system by protecting the body from free-radical damage. Riboflavin also promotes healthy hair, skin, nails, and vision.
Without riboflavin, the other B vitamins, especially niacin (vitamin B3) and pyridoxine (vitamin B6), cannot do their job, and a host of chemical processes necessary to keep the body alive would come to a grinding halt.
You also need riboflavin to produce flavin mononucleotide and flavin adenine dinucleotide, two enzymes that help the body convert fats, carbohydrates, and proteins into energy. The following doses have been studied in scientific research:
BY MOUTH:
Congestive heart failure: 2-6 grams of taurine per day in two or three divided doses.
Hepatitis: 4 grams of taurine 3 times daily for 6 weeks.
Nausea and vomiting due to chemotherapy: 2 grams of taurine daily for 6 months has been used.
Muscle soreness after exercise: 2 grams of taurine three times daily after meals before exercise and continued three days after exercise.
